This upcoming Sunday Christian churches around the world will be filled with pastel colors, family picture backdrops, and sermons titled ‘HE IS RISEN’. For all of these reasons and more, Stand in the Gap Ministries loves celebrating Easter Sunday. It is a beautiful day to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus three days after his death by crucifixion and the victory of life after death.
Today, we want to share more about the “victory of life” part. Yes, the victory of life after death is the primary focus on Easter, but we also want to celebrate the victory of life today, through Jesus.
“For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” 1 John 5:4-5
This powerful truth is what allows the people our teams serve to overcome earthly struggles, opponents, and the various difficult situations they face. Our Life Launch young adults, our Women in Transition, and our widows defense against the enemy’s plan of defeat is strengthened through the support of their Stand in the Gap small groups. These mentors pray over their mentees, speak scripture into their lives, seek God’s will together and focus on our victory of life today and after death.
This is why we rejoice BIG with every victory our volunteers, staff, board, and people we serve experience throughout the year. And on Easter, it’s especially special to reflect on all God has done for us, and for those around us. We invite you to celebrate God’s provision through Jesus and the Holy Spirit, giving us the ability to LIVE IN VICTORY today… and forever!
